How to Install the STLLED-1809 & STLKF-LED-308W Amber Hideaway Strobe Lights
This installation guide explains how to correctly install your STLLED-1809 Amber Hideaway Strobe Light and STLKF-LED-308W Amber Hideaway Strobe Light from Stinger Lighting. Both models offer powerful warning light functionality with multiple flash patterns and synchronization options, perfect for automotive safety applications.
Preparation
- Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the battery is disconnected before starting.
- Plan your mounting locations carefully — these hideaway strobes are designed to fit into indicator lights, headlamps, tail lights, or discreet panels.
- Route all cables safely, avoiding moving parts, sharp edges, and heat sources.
Wiring Guide
Both models use the same 4-wire configuration:

Pattern Selection
Apply Yellow wire to Black wire to select flash patterns:
- < 1 second → Next pattern
- 3–5 seconds → Previous pattern
- 6–9 seconds → Reset to Pattern #1

- Quad Flash (Fast & Slow)
- Octa Flash (Fast & Slow)

Synchronisation & Grouping
Synchronising Multiple Units: Connect the Yellow wires of all units together to enable synchronised flashing.
Grouping for Alternating Flash:
- Set Group A: Connect Yellow wires of Group A lights. Apply Yellow to Black wire for 16–19 seconds. Group A is now set.
- Set Group B: Connect Yellow wires of Group B lights. Apply Yellow to Black wire for 21–24 seconds. Group B is now set.

Alternating / Simultaneous Flash: Connect Yellow wires of Group A & B together:
- 1st press → Alternating flash
- 2nd press → Simultaneous flash
Final Testing
- Reconnect the vehicle battery.
- Test each light to ensure correct flash patterns and synchronisation.
- Secure all cables and mounting points.
