How to Install the BRTLED Apollo X STL12125-WL LED Driving Light
This guide explains how to properly install your BRTLED Apollo X STL12125-WL LED Driving Light, including wiring the driving beam, park lights, DRL, and strobe modes, and configuring synchronous/asynchronous flashing.
Preparation
- Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the battery is disconnected.
- Mount the light securely to a suitable location using the provided bracket.
- Route your cables carefully, avoiding sharp edges and high-heat areas.
Wiring Guide
Wire Colour | Function |
---|---|
Black | Ground / Negative (-) |
Red | Driving Beam (Positive +) |
Yellow | Daytime Running Light (DRL) |
White | Amber Park Light |
Green | Strobe Flash Mode (Switch-controlled) |
Blue | Sync Line (For synchronising multiple lights) |
Wiring Steps
- Connect Black wire to a solid chassis ground.
- Connect Red wire to your high-beam circuit or auxiliary light switch.
- Connect Yellow wire to an ignition live or DRL circuit if DRL is desired.
- Connect White wire to your park light circuit if required.
- Connect Green wire to a user-controlled switch for activating strobe mode.
- Connect Blue wire according to the Sync Mode instructions below.
Switching Warning Light Mode (Synchronous / Asynchronous Flashing)
Synchronising Multiple Lights:
- Connect the Blue Sync Line from two or more lights together.
- Connect the Blue wire to +12V / +24V for 3 seconds to reset the flash frequency.
- Once reset, applying power to the Blue wire will cycle through the light’s five selectable strobe modes.
Synchronous vs Asynchronous Flashing (for 2 Lights Only):
- For two lights:
- Connect both Blue Sync Lines together.
- Apply +12V / +24V to the Blue wire for 3 seconds to reset.
- Tap the Blue wire to +12V for 1 second to toggle asynchronous flashing (alternating flashes between the two lights).
- Tap the Blue wire again to return to synchronous flashing (both lights flash together).
Important: Asynchronous flashing is supported only when using exactly two lights. When three or more lights are connected, only synchronous flashing is supported.
Testing
- Reconnect your vehicle battery.
- Turn on each function and test:
- Driving Beam
- DRL
- Park Light
- Strobe Mode
- Sync/Async flashing if using multiple lights
Final Checks
- Ensure all wiring is secure and connections are weather-sealed.
- Check that cables are routed safely away from moving parts and heat sources.
- Double-check mounting bolts are secure.
Disclaimer: Installation should be performed by a qualified professional if you are unsure of the wiring requirements. Always consult your vehicle’s manual before connecting electrical accessories. Improper installation may void warranty.
